How We Help

At the West Orange Scholarship Foundation, we are committed to supporting graduating seniors of West Orange High School by providing scholarships based on both merit and financial need.

Our goal is to ease the financial burden of higher education, allowing students to focus on their academic and career aspirations.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for a WOSF scholarship, applicants must:

✔ Be a graduating senior at West Orange High School
✔ Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
✔ Take the SAT or ACT
✔ Display traits of good citizenship
✔ Be involved in school and community activities, including leadership roles
✔ Indicate their future goals and financial need
✔ Be a U.S. citizen
✔ Have applied to or been accepted by at least one public college or university in the State System of Florida

How to Apply?

Applications are available on our website, the WOHS website, and in the WOHS College and Career Center (located in the Guidance Office).

To apply, students must:

Follow Submission Instructions

A complete application includes:

  • A written essay (as described in the application)

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • An official high school transcript

  • Parents’ financial documentation

Applications must be submitted to the WOHS College and Career Center by the deadline, typically in early March (check the current application for exact dates).

Selection Process & Award Presentation

✔ Applications are reviewed by the WOSF Board of Directors in March and April.
✔ Selected students may be invited for an interview.
✔ Scholarship recipients are announced in April and should plan to attend the WOHS Senior Awards Ceremony to receive their award.
